Learn about using a dictionary

Discover new vocabulary through a weekly read aloud

Practice high frequency words for spelling

Practice using proper capitalization and punctuation in our writing

Be able to identify where capitalization and punctuation should appear in exiting writing

Work on iStation in the computer lab

This Week in Math we will...

Add double facts

Use the strategy double plus one

Solve problems of the day independently, then as a class

Participate in math stations

Work on Reflex Math while in the computer lab

Continue our study on the interdependency of animals

22^nd- 4^th Grade PTO Party

28^th- 1^st Grade Music Performance “Swamped” (6:00-7:00pm)

29^th- 1^st Grade Music Performance “Swamped” (8:30-9:30am)

Additional Announcements!

1. Don't forget to send in your money for the First Grade "Swamped" performance! Also, if you are donating supplies towards costumes, you are welcome to send those in and we will make sure they reach Mrs. McArthur! Our program will be Thursday, January 28th at 6:00 pm with an additional performance Friday, January 29th at 8:30 am.
   
2. Make sure you have signed up for Parent Conferences!
   Mrs. Thomas/Mrs. Graviett - Monday, February 1st
   Mrs. Johnson/Mrs. Evans - Tuesday, February 2nd
   Please email your child's teacher for any questions regarding sign ups!
   
3. Your child should be able to read and spell these following words!
   an, are, because, from, of, one, play, said, that, there, they, was, went, were, when, with, your.
   
4. Please remember to send your child to school with appropriate outerwear during cold temperatures. We WILL go outside if the temperature is 40 degrees or above.
