Week of September 1st
What a great first week of school!
We have enjoyed getting to know your children and are so excited for an
awesome year!
This will be the first week for lunch…
Please make sure your child has money in his/her lunch account if you
plan on purchasing.

Curriculum Night this Thursday, September 5th. (5:00-6:00)
Here is the encore schedule.
Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes on PE days. Fridays will be a rotation that includes PE
along with music or art. (This Friday
will only have one class due to the shortened schedule.)

This week in language arts, we will…
· Launch writing workshop
· Learn and practice the procedures in our
reading workshop
· Practice sorting words that will get us
ready for the spelling program
This week in math, we will…
· Use cubes to show different ways to
write numbers
· Create a graph based on the number of
letters in our name
· “Math about Me”- a fun activity using
math concepts to describe ourselves
We will also continue reading books by Kevin Henkes. This author’s books focus on friendship and
relationships. What a great way to begin
the year.
