This week... reposted :-) Excuse the technical difficulties!
Week of Dec. 9
Thank you so much for your involvement in the Christmas is for Children gift program. The children loved being involved in making another child’s Christmas special!
We hope your enjoyed your “snow-really ice”
days! We will have many ideas for our
writers’ workshop time. We’d love for
you to encourage your children to write about particular memories made this
weekend!

·
Check for period use
·
Visualize while reading
·
Predict the end of the story
·
Review alphabetical order to the first and second

·
Sort words to learn word patterns and help our
spelling
·
Build our vocabulary with a weekly read-aloud. We
will be introduced to 3 new words. All

·
Count
coins and total their value
·

·
Continue
to solve our problems of the day. We use
“CUBES” strategies. (Circle the numbers,
Underline key words, Box the question, Ex out extra information, and Show our
work)
·
Visit
our math stations. Each station will have a math activity that reinforces
concepts that we are currently learning or have previously learned. Your child
will also be able to visit “First in Math” at some point this week.
In Social Studies, we will learn
about Christmas traditions around the world.
