Week of Feb. 2
What an awesome program!  Thank you to Mrs. McArthur for leading our Journey into Outer Space!

The 100th day of school will be Feb. 5 (Thursday).  Your child is invited to dress as a 100-year old!  We can’t wait to see who shows up!  We’ll also enjoy several activities in class.
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.  Your teacher sent home a class list.   Please be sure to have a valentine for every child in the classroom.  Also, please be sure to have your child sign each card so that each classmate will know whom to thank for the card.
Please help your child decorate a box, a bag, or send in a purchased gift bag for your child to put the valentines in.
You may have your child bring his/her valentines to school on Thursday, Feb. 12th or Friday the 13th.
Your child may attach or bring in a small candy treat also if you wish.  Do not send in peanuts or candy containing peanuts.  You may also choose to send in a pencil, bookmark, or another small item that is not edible.
Our Valentine’s Day party will be in our classroom from 2:00-2:45 on Friday, Feb. 13th.  You are welcome to join us for the fun!
If you have not done so, please send in an empty, rinsed 2 liter bottle for an upcoming project!
Here is the encore schedule.  Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes on PE days.  Fridays will be a rotation that includes PE along with music or art.

Week of Jan. 26
Save the Date!  First Grade Music Program Information
January 29 – 6:00 pm &

January 30 – 8:30 am

First Grade students are currently preparing for their performance –Journey into Outer Space.  Please mark your calendars for this wonderful event.  The performance will include songs, instruments, movement and narration.

COSTUMES - ASTRONAUT OR ALIEN? – STUDENT CHOICE

Each student will provide his/her own costume for this production. Students may choose to be an Astronaut or an Alien. Costumes should be simple. Aliens could wear solid color t-shirts with added spots and headband antennas. Astronauts could wear solid white t-shirts with added paper patches and a helmet (sliver spray painted bicycle helmet). These are just suggestions. Solid t-shirts without artwork/logos will look the best on stage. You may add your own embellishments to customize your costume.  Costumes should allow the students to see and be heard during the performance.

If you have not done so, please send in an empty, rinsed 2 liter bottle for an upcoming project!
