Week of April 6
Don’t forget to have your child turn in TWO written spelling homework assignments each Thursday.
Here is the encore schedule.  Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes on PE days.  Fridays will be a rotation that includes PE along with music or art.

This week in language arts, we will…
·      Begin our poetry unit
·      Use context clues to determine word meanings
·      Learn about adverbs
·      Discover new vocabulary through a weekly read aloud
·      Categorize words to learn spelling patterns
·      Practice using proper capitalization and punctuation on paragraphs that have none.
·      Work on IStation while in computer lab.  We encourage children to take advantage of the program at home as well!

This week in math, we will…
·      Begin measurement
·      Solve problems of the day independently, then as a class
·      Participate in our math stations
·      Work on Reflex Math and First in Math while in computer lab

In Science, we’ll continue to learn about heat, light and sound.
