Week of March 17th

In Language Arts this week, we will…
·        Use authors as mentors while writing
·        Retell
·        Continue with dictionary practice
·        Sort words to learn word patterns and help our spelling
·        Build our vocabulary with a weekly read-aloud.
·        Practice placing correct capitalization and punctuation in paragraphs
·        Visiting computer lab to work on computer program “Imagination Station”, a differentiated program that reinforces reading skills


In Math, we will…
·        Write and solve subtraction word problems
·        Match subtraction sentences with the correct difference
·        Play subtraction “scoot”
·        Make connections between addition and subtraction facts
·        Continue to solve our problems of the day.  We use “CUBES” strategies.  (Circle the numbers, Underline key words, Box the question, Ex out extra information, and Show our work)
·        Visit our math stations. Each station will have a math activity that reinforces concepts that we are currently learning or have previously learned. Your child will also be able to visit “First in Math” at some point this week.

In Science, we’ll be learning about life cycles.
