Old Union Elementary First Grade

Week of April 1

Our field trip will be April 24^th!  We will be visiting Fort Worth Museum of Science and Nature. 

Due to the STAAR writing test for 4^th grade, there will be no visitors on campus April 2^nd and 3^rd. Thanks for understanding.  This includes lunch.

Join first grade on April 17 at Central Market!  A portion of the sales will go to Old Union!  Your first grade teachers will be there from 4:00 to 5:00.  Meet us at the café.

In Language Arts this week, we will…

·       Edit, revise and celebrate our writing

·       Learn about adverbs

·       retell

·       Sort words according to spelling patterns

·       Read word family poems to reinforce the patterns that many words have

·       With our “Daily Language Review”, we will edit/correct sentences and explore many language arts concepts

In Math, we will…

·       Make the greatest number possible. Then compare the numbers.

·       Review place value

·       Problem solve using SSM, SWA, and BSD plans

·      Participate in our math stations! 

In Science we will learn about the forest and how it serves as a habitat to many animals.
