Week of Feb. 11
Jump Rope for Heart
It is during the regular PE time next Mon and Tuesday, 2/11 and 2/12.
Parents are invited to come and watch some of the jump rope tricks and then can participate with their children in a station format. The envelopes are also due at that time. Ms. Specht would be glad to accept them all the way until the following Monday.
Our third grade students will be hard at work raising money for lung cancer beginning February 5th through February 13th. As you may know, one of our very own was diagnosed with lung cancer around this time last year. Cassie Gilmore, a third grade teacher, returned to teaching this year and continues to be an inspiration for us all. We’re excited to support the National Lung Cancer Partnership in honor of our teacher, co-worker, and friend. Beginning Tuesday, students may purchase wrist bands for $5 each. We’re hoping all families at OUES will jump on board and purchase wristbands for the entire family! They will come in adult and youth sizes. If you are interested in donating more than the wristband amount, we’re attaching a tax donation form to the wristband order form. Thank you for helping us make a difference as we fight back against lung cancer!
Valentine’s Day Parties!
2:00 on Thursday the 14th. (Everyone is welcome.)
Don’t forget to send in valentines to each child. An extra nut-free treat is welcome. Send in a decorated (or not decorated) box or bag on the 13th or 14th. We will be graphing conversation hearts, eating some treats and reading our cards. Fun!tter posted January 7, 2012
