Gently used and new clothes for Zambia… Mrs. Gibson, CARE teacher, is collecting children’s clothes for the rest of the year. If you have some that you need to donate, we’ll take them off your hands! Feel free to send them to your child’s teacher with a brief note. Thank you!!!
This week…
In Math, we will:
· Use subtraction strategies to solve word problems
· Use number lines and the “counting on” strategy to subtract
· Use “part, part, whole” work mats to explore subtraction
· Play math games to reinforce subtraction
· Subtract vertically and horizontally
· continue to problem-solve daily with our “Problem of the Day”
· enjoy our “BUILD” math stations. These stations help to extend and review the concepts the children have been learning all year. We continue to practice geometry, place value, fractions, number order, and addition with these activities…
In Language Arts, we will:
· pay attention to other authors and experiment with different techniques
· Continue our “many moments” stories
· examine our own writing and figure out ways to make it better
· make reflections as we read
· explore the dictionary and learn how to use it
· read word family poems and discuss the rhyming words
· practice capitalization and punctuation within paragraphs
Social Studies- We will be learning about wants, needs, goods, and services!
