We had a blast at Field Day!!! Thank you to everyone that volunteered!

Tuesday is PJ Day!  Wear your jammies!

Last day of school: May 31^st (10:50 dismissal)

Class parties will be at 10:00. You’re welcome to join us for ice cream!

This week…

In Math, we will:

·        We’ll have “Money Mania Day”. We’ll get to play a variety of games related to money.  Fun!

·        Identify events as certain or impossible

·        Add two-digit numbers.

·       enjoy our “BUILD” math stations. These stations help to extend and review the concepts the children have been learning all year.

In Language Arts, we will:

·        celebrate our writing with other first graders

·        read a variety of different levels of books and respond in writing

·         “make” words using the letters from a larger word

Science - We will continue to classify animals.

·        Continue to add coins

·        Identify events as certain or impossible

·        Add two-digit numbers.

·       enjoy our “BUILD” math stations. These stations help to extend and review the concepts the children have been learning all year.

In Language Arts, we will:

·        continue writing, revising as we go.

·        work with our writing partners

·        read a variety of different levels of books and respond in writing

·        review different parts of speech

·        “make” words using the letters from a larger word

·        practice using the correct punctuation with different kinds of sentences

·        read poetry to build fluency

Science - We will classify animals and continue learning about life cycles.

Thank you SO much for an amazing Teacher Appreciation Week!  You spoiled us!  The breakfasts, lunches and gifts were so nice!  We are so lucky to have such a great PTO!

Please make sure you’ve sent in your child’s bag of coins along with a clean sock. (This will be for a game…)

·        Investigate coins. We’ll learn their names and values.

·        Count coins. (same coins and mixed sets)

·        Add two-digit numbers.

·       enjoy our “BUILD” math stations. These stations help to extend and review the concepts the children have been learning all year.

In Language Arts, we will:

·        gather ideas from authors to write effective endings

·        continue writing, revising as we go.

·        work with our writing partners

·        add sounds that things make to our writing. (ex: “Boom!”)

·        read and respond in writing

·        review different parts of speech

·        “make” words using the letters from a larger word

·        practice using the correct punctuation with different kinds of sentences

·        read poetry to build fluency

Science - We will learn about butterflies and their life cycle.
